While we can perform upper eyelid surgery under local anesthesia, we perform lower eyelid surgery mostly under general anesthesia.
In lower eyelid surgeries, we usually fix the lid to the tissues on the outer edge of the eye to support the eyelid. This gives the eyes a more vivid and attractive appearance. After the surgery, some drops and ice application are required to reduce swelling and bruising. Generally, after this surgery, it is possible to return to work and social life after 1 week-10 days at the earliest.
